Skin-Glossymeter

What is the "Diffuse Scattering Correction" (DSC)?

With the Skin-Glossymeter we measure the light directly reflected from the skin (mirror effect) in the gloss channel and the diffuse reflected light in a second channel.

On the skin some part of the light will penetrate into the upper layers and will get scattered diffusely depending mainly on the skin colour (dark skin scatters less than light skin). To obtain a gloss value mostly free from the influence of skin colour,  the diffuse light entering the gloss channel is  deducted by a special formula (the Diffuse Scattering Correction - DSC). No other gloss measurement offers such a function.
